Our neighborhood association is organized around three main committees and a board, each focused on different aspects of community life. You can get involved with any that interest you.

SPARC: Social and Party Committee

Help organize the fun stuff! This committee plans neighborhood events like block parties, seasonal festivals, cleanup days, and yard sales. If you enjoy bringing people together and creating memorable experiences, then this is for you.

Mutual Aid Committee

Help neighbors support each other through resource sharing, skill exchanges, and community care. This committee maintains lists of trusted local services and resources, coordinates assistance for neighbors in need, and supports local businesses.

Ways to Participate

  • No Commitment Required: Remember, if you live in Jackson Park, you're already a member! There are no dues, no requirements, and no pressure. Come to events when you can, join committee meetings that interest you, or simply stay connected through our communications.

  • Attend General Meetings: Our quarterly general meetings are a great way to stay informed about neighborhood happenings, meet your neighbors, and have a voice in community decisions. Meetings are typically held on Tuesday evenings and last about an hour.

  • Volunteer for Specific Events: Not ready to join a committee? No problem! We always need volunteers for one-time events like neighborhood cleanups, block parties, and community yard sales. It's a great way to help out without a long-term commitment.

  • Stay Connected: Join our WhatsApp community and email list to stay in the loop about neighborhood news, events, and opportunities to help. Sometimes the best way to get involved is simply knowing what's happening around you.

  • Share Your Voice: Attend committee meetings to share your ideas, concerns, and suggestions. Your perspective matters, and fresh ideas help our community grow stronger.

There are many ways to get involved with the Jackson Park Neighborhood Association, and we'd love to have you join us!

If you have five minutes or five hours to spare, and whether you're new to the neighborhood or a longtime resident, there's a place for you in our community. Small actions by neighbors working together can create positive changes for everyone.

Development Committee

Work on improving our neighborhood's physical infrastructure and environment. This includes advocating for traffic calming measures, better sidewalks, stormwater management, native plant initiatives, and thoughtful development that preserves our neighborhood’s character.

Jackson Park Board

Handles the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our association running smoothly, including communications, treasury, meeting planning, and coordination with the city and other neighborhood groups. Board positions are filled on a yearly basis.
